African eFootball Championship and 3rd General Assembly Successfully Concluded in Casablanca.

The African eFootball Championship and the 3rd Edition of the General Assembly were successfully held in Casablanca, Morocco, from January 15th to 17th, 2026, bringing together key stakeholders from across the African esports ecosystem.

The event was attended by representatives from 37 African countries, highlighting the rapid growth of esports on the continent and the increasing importance of structured governance, regional cooperation, and competitive development within African digital sports.

Alongside the high-level eFootball competition, the General Assembly served as a strategic platform to address critical matters related to esports governance, institutional development, capacity building, and the future roadmap for esports in Africa. The discussions reflected a shared commitment among member nations to unity, transparency, and sustainable growth.

Somalia was officially represented at the General Assembly by Mr. Said Abdullahi, President of the Electronic Somali Sports Federation (ESSF). Somalia’s participation underscores the country’s continued engagement in continental esports initiatives and its dedication to contributing to the collective advancement of African esports.

The gathering reinforced collaboration among African nations and strengthened the foundation for future esports competitions and development programs across the continent. It also reaffirmed Africa’s growing presence and influence within the global esports landscape.
