ESSF Represents Somalia at Arab Esports Federation 2026 General Assembly

The Electronic Somali Sports Federation (ESSF) participated in the 2026 General Assembly of the Arab Esports Federation (ARESF), held virtually on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, bringing together representatives of member federations from across the Arab region.

The Electronic Somali Sports Federation was represented by its General Secretary, Mr. Abdilahi Abdirashid, on behalf of the President of ESSF, Mr. Said Abdullahi. Somalia was officially recorded among the participating member federations, with Mr. Abdilahi Abdirashid attending as the representative of the Republic of Somalia.

The General Assembly was chaired by H.R.H. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, President of the Arab Esports Federation, and included representatives from Arab national esports federations and sports organizations. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation among member federations, advancing esports development across the Arab region, and reviewing key organizational and strategic matters.

During the meeting, the Assembly reviewed the implementation of decisions from the previous General Assembly, including arrangements concerning the hosting of future competitions. It was confirmed that Kuwait will host the fifth edition of the Arab Esports Championship in 2027, while the competition’s title is set to be updated to the Arab Esports Championship in coordination with the Kuwait Esports Federation.

Looking ahead, the next General Assembly is scheduled to be held alongside the fifth Arab Esports Championship in Kuwait in 2027, continuing the Federation’s practice of combining its major competitive events with institutional meetings and collaboration among its member federations.

In his closing remarks, the President of the Arab Esports Federation emphasized the importance of continued collaboration among member federations, increasing virtual tournaments and opportunities for participation, activating the Federation’s committees, and building on the achievements made in recent years.

The participation of ESSF in the General Assembly reflects Somalia’s continued engagement within the Arab esports community and its commitment to contributing to regional cooperation, governance, competition development, and the growth of esports opportunities for Somali players and stakeholders.

Electronic Somali Sports Federation (ESSF) remains committed to representing Somalia in regional and international esports platforms and supporting the continued development of a stronger, more connected esports ecosystem.
