Organized during the DiGiArT FesT, the event gathered delegations from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda, combining a women’s esports championship with institutional and professional exchanges aimed at strengthening cooperation across the regional esports ecosystem.

The opening ceremony was attended by Janyce Obrecht, First Counsellor at the Embassy of France in Uganda, representing Virginie Leroy, French Ambassador to Uganda.

Ambassador Leroy joined the event on the second day to follow the competition and took part in the medal ceremony and closing session, highlighting France’s continued support for initiatives promoting youth, digital creativity, and gender equality in East Africa. The initiative is supported by the Création Africa program, led by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs.
