The Electronic Somali Sports Federation (ESSF) proudly welcomed the Project Leader of Games of the Future (GOTF), Mr. Igor Stolyarov, during his two-day official visit to Somalia.

Mr. Igor Stolyarov was officially received in Mogadishu by the President of the Electronic Somali Sports Federation (ESSF), Mr. Said Abdullahi, who warmly welcomed him to Somalia and expressed appreciation for the growing cooperation between Somalia’s esports ecosystem and the global Phygital sports movement.

The visit marks an important milestone for the development of Physical and Digital sports in Somalia, especially following ESSF’s official membership in the World Phygital Community (WPC) since 2024.

During his visit, Mr. Igor Stolyarov held meetings with senior leadership members of ESSF, including the Vice President and the General Secretary of the federation. Discussions focused on the future of Phygital sports development in Somalia, youth engagement, international collaboration, and opportunities for Somali gamers to participate in global initiatives and competitions.

As part of the visit, Mr. Igor Stolyarov also toured Accord University in Mogadishu, where he met with university students who are actively involved in gaming and esports activities. The interaction highlighted the increasing interest of Somali youth in digital sports and the potential for future talent development within the country.
